Welcome to Startups. Looking for a one-stop online-shop? Well, here you go!
Verishop is a new e-commerce platform that combines curation and discovery with the convenience you’ve come to expect. We aim to be the go-to shopping destination for all your lifestyle needs and wants, from women’s and men’s fashion to beauty and home decor. It is an e-commerce site with all the convenience and customer service that Amazon is known for, plus the trusted shopping experience, curated brands, and discovery opportunities that Amazon can lack and is often criticized for.
The name Verishop, stems from the idea of a “verified shop.” The husband-and-wife duo behind the brand wanted to create an online shopping platform — with a healthy dose of aesthetic — where “trust and verification were at the heart” of the experience.
In addition to priding themselves on a brand assortment that speaks to a focus on quality and discovery, the team behind Verishop is also taking things a step further with a brand incubator program that provides support and an e-commerce platform for new, indie labels. The revenue share program that Verishop has created for newer, smaller consumer brands that join the platform is also straightforward, partner (and avid user) Manshoory said. Brands in the Verified Shops channel only pay when they make a sale and it’s just 10% to 15%, depending on the category, according to the company. Brands can apply to appear on Verishop and once they’re selected as verified shops they’ll have the chance to tap into a customer base that’s mostly comprised of Gen Z and Millennial shoppers.
Unlike other attempts to create a front-end digital storefront experience for brands, founder Khan said that Verishop is differentiated by its focus on a back-end e-commerce infrastructure and logistics capabilities that other virtual malls can’t match. And you know what that looks like? Thoughtful responses to Instagram DMs and comments, and free one-day shipping on every order, every time. (With minimal packaging and easily recycled boxes, as well.)
Looks like Verishop is going to give Amazon a run for its money!
